Inspired by nature, I collect and fossick on the beaches of north west Tasmania. I mostly find sea glass, shells, pottery, jasper, agate, carnelian and aventurine locally. I also like to collect other Tasmanian gems such as serpentine, stichtite, obsidian and quartz etc.
Every piece of jewellery is unique and different and each piece is designed to highlight the organic found piece. I pick up a coloured pebble or piece of sea glass and feel inspired to show the beauty in the piece. I may copper form a leaf or a stone or wire weave a design around it. Or I may macramé the piece or set it in some carved polished driftwood to make the colour of the stone pop.
My work is constantly evolving as I think of new ideas to highlight my found pieces.
